The Winney's of Wyoming

Wyoming, It's a Great Place to be!!

Born in Topeka, Kansas in 1953. I enjoy HUNTING AND GUNS, deer, elk, antelope, and especially Canada geese. I am First Sergeant, E-8, with the Wyoming Army National Guard. Currently I am 1SG at HHB, 115th Field Artillery Brigade in Cheyenne, WY. I work full time for the Guard as a National Guard Technician for OMS #1. I am responsible for the service and repair of the equipment of A Battery, 2/300th Field Artillery located in Douglas and Gillette, WY.

I Joined the Army in January 1972 and stayed with it until November 1979. Later I joined the Wyoming Army National Guard in 1984. I began working full time for the WY-ARNG in June 1987.

Born in Junction City, Kansas. Vickie has been a Registered Nurse since graduating from college in 1984. She works very hard at her profession and is always on the go. Currently she is the MDS coordinator for a Long-Term Care facility in Douglas. She enjoys gardening and landscaping and making improvements around our home and quilting.

Jason was born in 1977 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Jason graduated from Douglas High School in 1995. He is currently attending college in Laramie, WY. Jason was a very adept wrestler in Free style, Greco/Roman and Collegiate styles while in school. He was the Wyoming State Champion in Free style several times throughout the years. He was a three time Wyoming Junior Greco/Roman Champion. He placed every year since 1996 in the Rocky Mountain Regional Open Tournament in both free style and Greco/Roman.

Justin was born in 1980. He, too, is a very serious wrestler. Justin has placed at the Wyoming State Tournament every year since 1990. He has been the Greco/Roman Champion twice. Three times Justin was the runner up in Freestyle. He has placed in Greco/Roman at the Western Regional Tournament twice and Freestyle once. He was the 1996 Wyoming State High School Champion @ 119 lbs. and the runner up in 1997 A 130 lbs. In 1998 he placed third in Greco/Roman at the Rocky Mountain Junior Regional Tournament and 4th in Freestyle. In his senior season at Douglas High School he managed to repeat as a Wyoming State High School champion. He wrestled @ 140 lbs. his senior year for Douglas HS team. They also won the State team championship by upsetting Afton/Star Valley, the champions for seven consecutive years. He attended Northwest Community College in Powell where he was a member of the wrestling team. He will be attending Chadron State College in Chadron, Nebraska next fall.

It was time for a NEW State Championship team.

Lisa is now Lisa McElwee and lives in Laramie, Wyoming with her husband (Ray McElwee) and three of our five grandchildren, Jacob who was born January 17th, 1996 and Allison, born 24 of November 1998, and Lainie who came on board 21 November, 2000.

Lisa and Ray have both graduated from the University of Wyoming. Ray works for Groathouse Construction in Laramie while Lisa is a stay-at-home mom.

Renee is now Renee Barnett. She and her husband Damon currently live in Eagle River, Alaska. Damon is in the US Air Force and stationed at Elmendorf Air Force Base. Damon is an X-ray tech and ultrasound specialist. Renee and Damon had our second grandson, Bryce on 20 January 1998. Bryce got a little sister, Olivia in July, 2001.
